LINTAN Health is a professional, multidisciplinary based lifestyle modification program locally run by a diabetes specialist to assist people in weight loss and improve health outcomes. The educational program is recognised by the Federal Government as a Lifestyle Modification Program (LMP) and is designed to teach participants about healthy eating, physical activity, stress reduction and goal setting as a way of supporting lifestyle changes and adopting healthy lifestyle behaviours.

Who benefits:LINTAN Health is a weight loss program targeted at anyone wanting to lose weight and keep it off. It addresses all of the reasons why patients are overweight and empowers them to take control by understanding all evidence based factors involved in weight control. It has had substantial benefits for those currently at risk of diabetes, metabolic syndrome, cardiovascular disease, sleep apnoea, back pain, arthritis, hypertension, PCOS, fertility and dyslipidemia. How long does it take:LINTAN Health runs for 7 group sessions over 6 months, initially meeting on a fortnightly basis for 2 and a half hours. It is not a quick fix, rather a long term approach to a better lifestyle. Following the completion of the 6 month program, patients also have the opportunity for continued support by coming in to be weighed and measured by a trained Diabetes Educator. Who runs it?Through LINTAN Health patients have access to a number of trained and experienced health professionals in the area of weight loss. These professionals include a mix of an Endocrinologist, a Dietitian, a Psychologist, a Life Coach and an Exercise Specialist. Resources contributed by LINTAN Health?Participants will also supplied with a folder and receive modules each time they visit a session. The modules reinforce the information they have discussed in the session and give them enjoyable tasks to do if they wish to further their knowledge and understanding at home.
